People love to label others, but does a label do a person justice? Let’s see. For me, in alphabetical order, I’m a…
Okay. Labels are applicable, but they don’t say much. Perhaps some detail would help.
Hubby and I were married in 1982. We’ve settled in Edmonton, Alberta with our dog, Maggie. In conjunction with numerous other contributors – some welcome, some not – we’ve raised two children to adulthood. They appear to be successfully launched and continue to be a joy in our lives. We have one more child – a sweet baby girl in heaven. 2 Samuel 12:22-23 says that one day we’ll join her there. We look forward to that day.
Well, that says a little more. What else?
Ah yes. Life experience. That always splashes some colour on a person’s portrait. The older we get, the longer the list. Chronologically, my hands-on experience includes:
- Dysfunctional Families
- Grief and Loss
- Tourette Syndrome
- Spinal Cord Injury
- Burn Out
- More caregiving
- Peace & Contentment
Add to that my reason for peace and contentment, and the reason I write and speak: …the God of all comfort who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves received from God. (2 Cor. 1:3-4 NIV) and I think that’s good enough when it comes to ‘About Me’.
Through all that living, the Lord has shown me he will bring value for my suffering. That’s the focus of my speaking and writing today.
Dialogue opens doors we never knew were closed, so I look forward to hearing from you, too.
